Frequently Asked Questions

  • You may have heard about financial advisors or financial planners. They do valuable work. But they usually focus on your long-term financial wealth. A financial coach focuses on your short-term financial health. Instead of selling services or products that manage your money for the next 20-40 years, I help you implement the habits and skills you need to manage your day-to-day and month-to-month money management

  • No, you don’t need to have lots of savings or even stable finances to work with me. You don’t need to wait until you are in a “better place” money-wise. In fact, I can help you get there faster if you work with me. The only thing you need to have is the desire and commitment to change.

  • Often, generic budgeting can be restrictive and unsustainable. I work with you to build a money system that works for your lifestyle. Budgeting is more than saying “I can’t afford that”; it's planning for what your money can do for you! I know we can find the right way for you to fund your needs of today while still reaching your goals for tomorrow.

  • Berating people might be the way some gurus get famous on the internet, but it's not good financial advice. There is no right or wrong; there are multiple right ways, and it's my job to help you figure out how to find the right right way for you. You can get the latte, I promise no yelling.

  • I understand, this can be a bit overwhelming. I believe that everyone deserves the chance to change their situation. The investment you make now to build new habits, learn new skills, and implement systems that work for you could mean that you are never worried about money again.

  • This is a casual call to discuss what you are looking for. I promise no hard math problems or tricky financial questions. I’ll explain what I do and how I work, and we’ll see how I can help.

  • To prepare fully for your first coaching session, I ask that you fill out a questionnaire, gather information about your current money situation, and estimate your expenses. The information may take a few hours to collect, but every bit helps me build a better coaching session for you.

  • The coaching session starts with weekly meetings and transitions to bi-weekly. This allows us to establish a solid foundation and get you comfortable with the systems and tools we use. You continue learning new skills and forming habits as the program progresses, with accountability and encouragement the whole way.

  • I met virtually with my clients over Google Meet, a video meeting tool. I also share a Google Drive with clients so all our resources and workbooks can be accessed and updated by both of us.

  • Yes! Please have them join. Even if one partner is more hands-on with the money than the other, if you share a life, you share goals, decisions, and economic outcomes. We want to make sure that each partner is included in the financial journey.
